Speed & Efficiency

In early 2018 we launched our LOGISTICS TEAM to manage the transport and delivery of our kit nationwide. Many of our competitors don't give this side of the job anywhere near enough attention but we are very different.

Our logistics team looks at all jobs and plans them in detail. Things like site access issues, smaller surrounding roads with low bridges and building access.

They then look at the loading and unloading options, such as the requirement for Plant on site - or if we need to send a Moffett Vehicle or a tail lift. Perhaps we need a two or four man crew involved.

They will also look after the install details - again looking at plant needed or perhaps we need to send 4x4 vehicles to access that muddy field!

Tracking, Comms & Job Management

All our vehicles now have state of the art tracking installed from QUARTIX. We can see all our vehicles all the time. We know who's driving, the speed they are travelling and their complete route. This has been an amazing addition to the tools used by our hire team. Our onsite crews also have access to the tracking system via their smartphones.

We are currently working on a system that will allow our customers the ability to track their own delivery vehicle via their smart phone.

From day 1 we have also placed massive emphasis on communication between our teams.  In the very early days we were the small event hire company who always had two way radios on site - just making the job that bit more efficient. Today we have stepped the game up even further. Our teams use 2 types of 2 way radio now - both the traditional UHF from MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS and now a Nationwide POC two way radio system developed in house named BUDDHA-NET. These units mean the office can talk directly to teams on site in Scotland and London at the same time - or those teams can talk to one another at the push of a button! Amazing technology making our job that bit more efficient! We have also installed both UHF & POC radios into all our site vehicles with handsfree kits so we can all stay in touch on the move too!

Job Management has always been a major aspect of what we do, making sure a delayed job doesn't then delay other jobs in the day or stop or customers from getting the best service. We now use a cloud based system connected to all our drivers and crews via their smartphones. All job details are automatically sent to their screens and we are able to change logistics plans with the drag of a mouse - updating all our field teams live! Amazing technology taking us one step ahead of the competition!

The Fleet

To compliment our range of hire equipment we run a variety of vehicles on our fleet:


For the smaller hires and those quick drop-offs we've found the VITO to be the one for us, taking a number onto the fleet in 2018 replacing our previous Peugeot Vans. Great to drive, good fuel economy and so far exceptional reliability - a great choice!


These vans have replaced our previous Mercedes Sprinter Dropsides and have already become a hugely successful addition to the fleet! Being able to take a tonne in the back while also pulling a trailer of 3.5t fully loaded as they have a 7T train weight. They also have a tacho fitted for those longer trailer runs. We have them both with and without tail lifts.


From the early days of business when we were Event Buddha we have always operated Defenders, with the go anywhere ability and the sheer strength when it comes to towing and working on site. It helps you can jetwash the inside .... also their train weight of 7 tonne! The MD is a lover of Defenders and still drives one daily. (it's a bit posher than the site ones tho!)


Joining the fleet in 2019 we have a number of new DMAX doublecab pickup trucks. As we can no longer buy Landrover Defenders we went to market to source a viable alternative that could tow a full 3.5 tonne with ease. Having tried 4x4s from a number of manufacturers, we settled on the DMAX from Isuzu.


After much debate and analysis it was decided moving forward we would make the move to running just 3.5T & Artics. New to us in 2019 replacing our previous rigid trucks these tractor units give us a huge range of options from just the one vehicle, keeping our overall costs down. Utilising a range of trailers we are able to use these vehicles for a large variety of jobs, from furniture deliveries to fencing jobs. We also run shorter "Urban" trailers for the jobs that used to require the use of our 7.5t, 18t & 26t Rigids.


We now exclusively use BATESON TRAILERS for our own use. Their trailers are some of the very best and their service is simply brilliant... We have a large range of 3.5T trailers from Bateson, from flatbeds upto 20ft long and 8ft wide to specialist bin trailers made specially for us!


New from 2019 we now run our very own Moffetts (M5 NX) on our Artics - available on request for unloading & even install by our crew teams.
